Sitting in the terminal before we board Delta flight 275 to Tokyo-Narita, Japan! So excited to witness and emerged myself into a new culture. Being an MSU student has most definitely opened my eyes to diverse backgrounds, but going to another country that is highly homogeneous will be fascinating!!
I have traveled before, however this study abroad trip will be the farthest away from my home in Wixom, Michigan. It will also be my longest time spent outside of the United States. My family is extremely happy for me to have the privilege travel to Japan and I hope to make the most of my experience while abroad.
We have learned quite a bit about Japanese culture, and going to the country to see it in real life will be awe-striking. I have anticipated this day for the past few months now. I look forward to visiting mount Fuji the most, I think this will be a breath taking land mark. I also look forward to the temples and small villages. I plan to take lots of photos to share with my family when back home! For now, "konnichiwa" Japan and "sayonara" Michigan!
