I really enjoyed this! First to see the operations of the fish market was fascinating, and with our visit to the tuna processing plant I was able to see the whole picture. From point of entry into the market, all the way to the consumer. At the tuna processing plant, we ate some blue fin tuna that was the ideal condition (very fresh) for sushi. We learned the logistics of how tuna is transported and stored. Most tuna is stored for over a year before hitting the Tsukiji fish market! Overall this first day was a huge success and I have been exposed to a new culture with a new diet! Having sushi will become a more common thing for me throughout my stay here in Japan, I better get used to those chopsticks!

Our first day in Japan
Wow, what a day! As I am typing this, it is hard for me to think that I have only been in Japan for a total of 30 hours. And we have done so much. First we had the Tsukiji fish market, which meant waking up before 4am. Then after we had a breakfast that opened up my diet to raw fish (something I don't typically eat). After we shopped for a while, and then we headed to KRT for a corporate visit. And after this visit we went right on to a tour of the food systems tuna processing plant.
